As of the 2020 census, it has a population of 1,258 residents.<\/p>\n<p>The name &#8220;Pasihagon&#8221; is derived from the Cebuano word &#8220;sihag,&#8221; which means &#8220;to shine&#8221; or &#8220;to glitter.&#8221; This could be attributed to the area&#8217;s natural beauty, possibly referencing the shimmering effect of sunlight on its coastal waters or landscapes.<\/p>\n<p>Historically, Siquijor was established as a municipality in 1794, the same year its parish was founded.W<span style=\"font-family: var(--bs-font-sans-serif); font-size: 1rem;\">hile specific historical records about Pasihagon are limited, it is likely that the barangay developed alongside the broader growth of the municipality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Geographically, Pasihagon is situated at approximately 9.2060\u00b0 N latitude and 123.4640\u00b0 E longitude, with an elevation of about 6.1 meters (20 feet) above sea level. It shares borders with the barangays of Cang-alwang, Tongo, Caipilan, and Tambisan.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past decades, Pasihagon has experienced steady population growth. In 1990, the population was recorded at 799 individuals.
